In addition to the “Blue Flag” and “Clean Harbour” labels, Saint-Pierre des Embiez is the first harbour in the Var to have been awarded ISO 14001certification, on account of
the environmental policy
it has implemented since 2006. Today, Saint-Pierre harbour guarantees the quality of an exemplary welcome to the 750 boats which can seek shelter there all year round.
It is an exceptional marina and the quality of its waters is analysed on a weekly basis… with, as ultimate quality control, extremely strict monitoring of its waste disposal. Its comfortable showers and toilet facilities, constructed in some cases along the lines of a hammam, have been built in three different points of the harbour in order to limit as far as possible wastewaste being released from the boats. This allows flora and fauna to be conserved in harmonious conditions…
These amenities have proved a tremendous success with those yachtsmen and women who appreciate a certain level of comfort.
If you choose to dock at Les Embiez, you undertake to respect our 7-point charter of good environmental practices:
1. I use rubbish bins and sort my waste. 2. I take my dangerous waste (motor oils, paints, hydrcarbons, solvents, contaminated waste, out-of-date flares,…) to the “clean point”. 3. I use the toilet facilities of the harbour rather than the toilets on my boat. 4. I limit my consumption of water, especially for rinsing my boat. 5. I respect other users, especially as regards noise. 6. I use products which are less harmful for the marine environment. 7. I keep my dog on a lead and pick up its mess.
