Offshore from Six-Fours, the archipelago of Les Embiez comprises five islands: Le Grand Gaou, Le Grand Rouveau, Le Petit Rouveau and the largest, the islands of Les Embiez… The island is 95 hectares in size, and boasts an average of 300 days of sunshine a year. Its circumference is approximately 6 km.
Its high, rocky coastline on the north and west sides is dotted with a series of secret and inviting inlets. To the south and the east, the coastline becomes lower and sandy, with 7 delightful beaches one after another fringed with turquoise waters. Further along the coastline, towards Le Gaou, there are former saltworks and Le Brusc lagoon.
A short 12 min crossing is all it takes to reach Les Embiez from the tiny fishing port of Le Brusc – Six Fours les Plages (15 km from Toulon and 62 km from Marseille). The island can be reached all year round and the ferry departs frequently in each direction in summer from morning (6am) to well into the night (1am), and once an hour in winter. You can consult our timetables online.
